Kindergarten Transition

Kindergarten began in the 19th century. It means "a garden for children", a place where children can be nurtured and allowed to grow at their own pace.

Prince Edward Island will offer a full-day, school-based kindergarten program in 2010. A Kindergarten Transition Team is now working to transition the program from the community to the school system. The team includes representatives of the department, school boards, the early childhood sector and partner groups.
