The Douglas MacMaster Memorial Occupational Health and Safety Award was introduced in 2006 to celebrate individual or team achievements by government employees in the promotion and development of health and safety. Award nominations are being accepted by the Public Service Commission until May 17.

Strengthening trade relationships with the European Union topped the agenda for discussions between Premier Robert Ghiz and Ambassador Mathias Brinkmann of the European Union to Canada. The European Union is Prince Edward Island’s second most important trading partner, accounting for approximately 10 percent of international exports.
The Province of Prince Edward Island will host the 2013 Heads of Mission Economic Mission from May 14 to May 16 which draws together diplomatic, consular and trade representatives from more than 60 countries.
The new Highway Safety Division website launched this week to coincide with National Road Safety Week, taking place May 14-20, 2013. The new site promotes awareness of safe driving practices and includes information on driver education, licensing, motor vehicle registration and inspections.
